QUT Guild Social Sport prides itself on being a place for people of all skill levels to play sport in a fun, safe and positive environment.
Players and teams must agree to these Terms & Conditions when registering for the season.

All participating players must be fully registered with QUT Guild Social Sport.
The team fee must be paid upfront for the registration to be processed. Weekly payments are not accepted.
The Team Captain must enter the details of each team member when registering online. Any player that is not registered will not be permitted to play. This includes players that join the team midway through the season or players that are just filling in for one game.
All correspondence during the season will be sent to the Team Captain. It is the Team Captain’s responsibility to pass any information on to their teammates.
The Team Captain will receive an email the week before the season starts with details for the season.

Individual players can request to be placed on the same team as their friends via the “Special Requests” section on the registration form.

If a season does not go ahead for any reason, teams and individuals will be offered a spot in another competition or a full refund.
Players must read and sign a Participant Waiver before their first game. This includes players that join the team midway through the season or players that are just filling in for one game.
Players who haven’t read and signed a Participant Waiver will not be permitted to play.
Players must sign in before each game they play. This includes players that join the team mid-way through the season or players that are just filling in for one game.
Players must sign in and play a minimum of 3 games during the regular season to be eligible for the Finals.
If an injury occurs during the game, it is the responsibility of the player involved or their teammates to alert the officials and seek First Aid.
First Aid treatment may only be administered by the trained Convenor.
The officials may stop the game for an injury if deemed necessary. The game clock will not be stopped at any point unless it is a Final.
Any player that sustains an injury must complete an Incident Report Form, no matter how minor the injury seems at the time. Insurance claims cannot be made without an Incident Report being completed and lodged to the Convenor at the time of the injury.
To make an insurance claim, please email sport@qutguild.com with the details of the injury and a record of registration.
Any player who participates in QUT Guild Social Sport competitions does so at their own risk.
It is compulsory for all players to wear appropriate enclosed shoes. Footwear will be inspected by officials prior to the commencement of the game and any player wearing inappropriate shoes will not be permitted to play.
Players must remove all jewellery prior to the game. This includes rings, bracelets, watches, bands, fit bit’s, earrings, studs and other piercings.
Long or sharp fingernails must be trimmed or taped over. Playing gloves may be worn but must be approved by the Convenor prior to the game.
Players cannot participate if they are wearing a medical caste of any kind.
It is highly recommended that players participating in our soccer competitions wear shin guards for their own safety.

Standard Season: 10 Rounds
3 x Grading rounds / 5 x Regular rounds / 2 x Finals rounds
Summer/Winter Season: 8 Rounds
6 x Regular rounds / 2 x Finals rounds
Fixtures for the first 3 rounds will be released the week before the season starts.
Teams can expect to play a fair amount of all game timeslots. All teams must be prepared to play between 6-10pm (weekdays) and 2-7pm (Sunday).
There will be a bye each round if there is an odd number of teams in the competition.
NO GAME TIME PREFERENCES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
QUT Guild Social Sport reserves the right to change game times where necessary. Team Captain’s will be notified of any changes with as much notice as possible.
It is recommended that players download the SportsFix app to easily access the fixtures.
Grading is used to determine the most appropriate division for each team.
Grading will occur for the first 3 rounds of the standard season. Competitions with 10 or less teams will not have grading rounds.
Summer/Winter seasons will not have grading rounds. Teams will be placed into a division based on the skill level selected when registering.
The top 4 teams on the ladder at the end of the regular season will play Semi-Finals.
If multiple teams finish the regular season on the same amount of competition points, ladder positions will be determined by points difference.
Semi-Finals: 1st vs 4th / 2nd vs 3rd
Grand Final: Winner of SF1 Vs Winner of SF2
Semi-Final fixtures will be published once the regular season has been completed and Grand Final fixtures will be published once the Semi-Final round has been completed.
Players must play a minimum 3 games to be eligible to for the finals.
Win = 3 points
Loss = 1 point
Draw = 2 points
Bye = 3 points
Forfeit = -3 points
If a team arrives 10 minutes after the starting time of their game, the match will be deemed a forfeit.
If a team needs to forfeit, they must notify the Sports Coordinator sport@qutguild.com or (07) 3138 2928 prior to 12pm on the day of competition.
The forfeiting team will receive an automatic loss and will lose an additional 3 competition points.
If a team forfeits without notice, they will receive their first warning. If the same team forfeits again without notice, they will be removed from the competition immediately.
Any team that is removed from the competition due to multiple forfeits will not receive a refund.
Games that are played outside may be cancelled from time to time due to wet weather. Every attempt will be made to replay any washed out rounds.
The weather will be monitored throughout game day and a decision will be made by 4pm on weekdays or 12pm on weekends.
The Team Captain will be notified by email or text and a post will go up on our Facebook page.

It is the responsibility of all players to conduct themselves in a respectful, considerate and positive manner towards team members, opposing teams and officials. There will be no tolerance of rude, abusive, derogatory or other negative behaviour.
A formal complaint and disciplinary procedure exists so that action can be taken against teams or players that display poor conduct on or off the field.
NO REFUND will be given to a player or team that is removed from the competition due to poor conduct.
If a team or individual would like to make a formal complaint, they must email sport@qutguild.com with details of their concerns.
Complaints will be reviewed by the Sports Coordinator and further action will be taken if deemed necessary.
Teams are required to determine their own uniform. All team members must wear the same coloured shirt. If two opposing team colours clash, the Convenor will provide one team with a set of bibs to wear for the game.
Bibs will be provided each week for all netball teams to wear and must be returned to the Convenor at the end of the game.
Players must accept that they may be filmed or photographed while playing. Any media captured may be used by QUT Guild Social Sport for marketing purposes.
QUT Guild Social Sport collects, stores, and uses personal information only for the purposes of administering QUT Guild Social Sport programs. The information collected will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent, except to meet government, legal or other regulatory authority requirements.

What happens if games are cancelled due to bad weather?
Notifications will go out though our Facebook Page as well as to all team captains via email
Where can I find the draws to our games?
All draws will be available on our website and will be sent out to all team captains at the beginning of the season
Where can I find info on UNI Games?
Uni games is organised by the university, send all inquiries to QUT via their sport email: sports@qut.edu.au
When does the competition start and end?
The social sport program runs for 10 weeks, commencing week 3 of each semester. Exact dates and times can be found through the website on each individual sport page.
When can I register?
Registrations open at 9am Monday of O-week each semester and are open for 2 weeks or until full
How to Register?
Registration is done through our website, just click on the sport you are interested in joining and at the bottom there is an option to register.
How can I pay?
The easiest way to register and pay is through our website, however payments can also be made in person during O-Week at the QUT Guild tents.
How many people can be in a team?
It is recommend that you have at least 10 people but no more than 12.
How many girls/boys have to be in a team?
For all mixed sports there must be at least 2 women and 2 men on the court at all times
How many games do we play?
There is 10 games throughout the semester permitting playable weather.
Can I get a refund?
We ask that you only register if you have an intention of playing, refunds will only be granted under special circumstances.

Can I play more than one sport?
Sure can! As long as they don’t play on the same night.
I signed up as an individual, where do I get the information now?
You will receive an email with your team members and team name by the end of week 2.
Who provides equipment?
We provide all the equipment; you just need to turn up
However, any special requirements such as strapping tape, you will need to bring.
What uniforms do we wear?
It is required that all team members wear the same colour shirt while playing. If you are interested in buying custom team shirts, we have a deal with The Print Bar in Windsor, just send an email through to sport@qutguild.com for more information.
Can I join as in individual?
Yes sign up by yourself and we will place you in a team with other individuals.
Do I have to be a QUT Student?
Anyone can join. Even staff are welcomed!
What happens if we don’t have enough people for our game?
You are more than welcome to get friends to fill in if required, however only registered players will be covered by QUT Guild’s insurance. Failing that your team will forfeit and be deducted 1 point.
I missed out on registrations this semester, what can I do?
Unfortunately, you will have to wait for next semester registration, registrations open at the start of O-week each semester.
